We are nearing the end of March and now have blooming naturalizing daffodils and grape hyacinths!
The daffodils and hyacinths began popping up a few weeks ago and bloomed earlier this week. The deer have feasted on the hyacinth foliage as well as the tulips which I’ll post in a bit.
A shot of some of the naturalizing daffodils. I’m happy with the variety since I don’t see them often unlike the plain yellow variety. My guess is about 1/2 have bloomed at this point.
It was a massacre for the tulips. Most are chewed down through the bud, only 3 remain with any potential to flower. The good news is I still have a ton of Pink Late Tulips which are late spring bloomers that haven’t poked through yet. I will be picking up some deer resistant spray at the local nursery in hopes of saving the next blooms.
Still haven’t seen a hint of the alliums which is expected as they are early summer bloomers.
Hope to have more to share soon!
