Following the living room progress start to finish. This room didn’t have as many dramatic changes as some of the others but what a difference the smaller touches made!
Before Pictures
(For those who haven’t read the other room posts, these before pictures were taken before we closed but after we did some cleaning so the lenders would finance this house for us.)
There is a look out the front door and the rear slider onto the deck. The room off of the living area is the office. These pictures do not show the wood stove which is to the left of picture 3.
DEMO
Lucky for us the living room didn’t need any major demolition. Very little drywall was removed however, the drywall crew failed to protect the floor before spraying texture on the walls. The clean up of that mess was equivalent to the cleanup of drywall dust.
The front door was replaced. The slider had been causing water damage to the floor and was replaced with a CertainTeed Slider.
Move-in Ready
Again, lots of primer and paint. We were pleased with how nicely the parquet cleaned up. Notice the tile area on the right side. This is where the wood stove sits.
New front door, blinds, and light fixtures. We went with Levelor PVC faux wood blinds throughout the downstairs.
Finished ceiling beam. We debated whether or not to paint the wood beams but agreed it would be a shame to cover the natural beauty of this wood.
Since these pictures were taken the door molding was installed.
