When we first started looking at homes I took my camera and planned to take pictures however on the first couple I took only a few pictures. I quickly learned I was questioning what I saw because I couldn’t memorize the entire house and layout. So, in the future I started taking pictures of EVERYTHING. Every light, every floor, every bedroom from at least two angles, the outside front back profile etc.
Why is this helpful? Well you are there and you think you can see and remember it all but you can’t. I found this out when people were asking me q uestions and I new I had seen what they asked but I had forgotton 🙁
So, take pictures of EVERY little detail I think this will be the best investment (if you have to buy a camera) when shopping for a home. Put them in folders on your home PC and make photo galleries. Now you can compare homes and decide which one is best for you and if you have a question about an area on the house you can look up the picture.
Even if you don’t have a picture of the exact item you want to look at you most likely will have it in one of your other pictures since you took SOOO many.
Take pictures up close, take them far away, the same things over.
In the end the more pictures the better, and the more detail the better.
